Multiple Sclerosis Walk
(April 2002) This event took place on Staten Island which covered a good portion of the island from Richmondtown to the beach promenade at Sand Lane. Mother Nature was not cooperating that day, yet this didn't dampen the spirits of the operators or walkers.

Repeater Mast Setup thumbnail Our day begins with setting up the fiberglass mast for the portable 70cm repeater which was made available to us.
Repeater Test thumbnail Carl (WA2IAF) gives the repeater a thorough going over before the start of the walk. NYC ARES appreciates the loan of the repeater by Carl for this event and temporary disruption in service while in transit. We thank him for his generosity and commitment to community service.
12.5 Mile Mark thumbnail The walk was broken up into two sections for possible completion. All the hearty souls continued passed the 7.5 mile finish and continue for another five miles.
Mother Nature thumbnail Like I said before, Mother Nature was not cooperating throughout the entire event.
Frank (N2UMC) thumbnail Frank (N2UMC) holds out at his post like a trooper in less than favorable conditions that morning.
