[Check-in procedures]

"Each station will be called once".  Call ONCE then DROP.

If no response, move on!  Don’t do late NYC RACES check-ins for each Boro list.

[Net Control Station Script]

Calling all RACES stations.  This is the New York City Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service Net, which is conducted on the WA2ZLB repeater, and meets every 1st Monday of the month at 8:30 PM local time.  During times of declared disaster or emergency, or during official training and exercises like this Net, RACES communications are conducted on behalf of local, state and federal government agencies and are considered as official Governmental Communications.  The purpose of this monthly Net is to call together the volunteers enrolled in New York City RACES, for disseminating information regarding emergency communications, preparedness, and related topics of interest.  This is a directed net, and all communication must go through the Net Control Station at all times.  Tonight your Net Control Station is _____________ (your call, name and location).  Is there someone willing to act as an Alternate Net Control should this station go off the air?

[Check-ins]

At this time I will take check-ins for the Net in the following manner:  Net Control will conduct a "Roll Call" by Boro of all the New York City RACES members on the current roster.  Each station will be called ONCE and the repeater's output carrier allowed to drop.  If there is no response, Net Control will move on to the next station.  Please respond ONLY with your call sign, OR your call sign and the word TRAFFIC, if you have traffic for the Net.  When you are acknowledged, Net Control will respond with the PROWORD "Roger".  Any non-RACES stations that wish to join the net will be checked in at the end by an open call-up.  Please give my callsign, drop your carrier to see that you are not doubling with anyone, and then proceed to give your call sign with name and location. .  For those who are unable to get into this repeater, we are also maintaining a watch on the 444.050 machine for check-ins.

We will now begin call up for tonight's New York City RACES Net.
