(January 2002) As part of the ARRL New York City-Long Island Section Convention, this event brings hams from around the area for training and informational seminars. New York City ARES developed a presentation for the "Disaster Communications" seminar sponsored by our ARRL Section Emergency Coordinator Tom Carrubba, KA2D.
HRU 2002 is sponsored by the Great South Bay ARC and is a cooperative effort between over twenty clubs and organizations in the NYC-LI Section.

John Blowsky, KB2SCS, had a good crowd on hand to watch the demonstration of his Automatic Picture Relay Network (APRN) software which send an APRS map with your SSTV images. The software is configurable to allow image updates to a web site via FTP for automatic site display. (N2TEE)

Our presentation "Disaster Communications - The Real Thing" generated a packed house, and we were fortunate to have a large enough room to accommodate our guests. We had one of the most well attended presentations of the day which made our efforts all the more satisfying as a group. (N2TEE)
