Ham Radio University (January 2002) As part of the ARRL New York City-Long Island Section Convention, this event brings hams from around the area for training and informational seminars. New York City ARES developed a presentation for the "Disaster Communications" seminar sponsored by our ARRL Section Emergency Coordinator Tom Carrubba, KA2D. HRU 2002 is sponsored by the Great South Bay ARC and is a cooperative effort between over twenty clubs and organizations in the NYC-LI Section. Our presentation "Disaster Communications - The Real Thing" generated a packed house, and we were fortunate to have a large enough room to accommodate our guests. We had one of the most well attended presentations of the day which made our efforts all the more satisfying as a group. (N2TEE) |
